Recently, the word "potato" keeps coming out of my mouth, and I have no idea why. I don't even like them all that much Usually, the first things I think of when I hear this word are: potato famine (obvious historical reason), eyes, and Veggie Tales. Is Mr. Lunt a potato? He has no eyes. Maybe they were trying to be ironic. (Oh...nevermind. A quick google has revealed that Mr. Lunt is indeed a "decorative gourd.')
But I just had this odd but somewhat humorous (or so I think) thought the other day. Everyone has heard of the horror flick "The Hills Have Eyes." I've never actually viewed it, seeing as how I am an incredibly pathetic movie-goer in terms of psychological-scarring-tolerance. So though I have never seen the movie, and I do not intend to in the near future, I thought it would be funny if it had been set in Ireland instead of California. Then, the the hills really would have eyes. Ha ha.
I'm sorry if that was anticlimactic for you, but I just really needed to blog about potatoes.
So, to save this from becoming the second extremely short post in a row, let's talk about potatoes some more. I don't like baked potatoes all that much. They're boring, unless they are all loaded and dressed and ready to go. Potatoes in stir-fry are really starchy and also not very exciting. However, potato fries and potato chips are a few objects of my love for food, though perhaps it is really a love for fat and oil and not for potatoes. Potatoes in clam chowder are good. Actually, stews and soups are good in general except over-salted chili, noodle soup, chowder, etc. But I'll save soups for another day.
Talk to me about potatoes in the comments. Potato.
Dude; so much talk about potatoes makes me hungry! :3 I love 'em. Though reading your blog post and saying the word myself = word feels weird on my tongue. Er... mind-tongue? Since I'm not actually saying it, but I'm saying it in my mind...? Never mind. I have odd thoughts. I agree w/what you've said about potatoes and soup. They're good. I prefer sweet sometimes.. like sweet potatoes taste better by themselves + butter. Simple and amazing. Regular potatoes + butter are pretty good, too. And potatoes in Japanese curry... AHH :D
ReplyDeleteLOL at the joke. XDD
